UPSC Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Exam 2015 (269 Vacancies)



UPSC-GEOL-Exam-2015Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) hold a Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2015 will be held on 23rd May 2015. A competitive examination for recruitment of Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Junior Hydrogeologist posts. The closing date for Online Registration is 20th March 2015.

Age Limit:


For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) -> 21 to 32 Years as on 1st January 2015. i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1983 and not later than 1st January 1994.


For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) -> 21 to 35 Years as on 1st January 2015. i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1980 and not later than 1st January, 1994.


Educational Qualifications:


Geologists -> Post Graduate in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956(3 of 1956).


Geophysicists -> M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed universities under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.


Chemists -> M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognized University.


Application Fee: Rs.200/- for General and OBC Category candidates. The fee pay through either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card. No fee for SC/ST Category, PWD and Women Candidates.
